Chez nous à nouveau ... - We're home again ...

Nous sommes rentrés chez nous après un voyage au Royaume-Uni. C'était une quinzaine de jours très occupés! Nous avons aidé deux de nos enfants à déménager: nous avons dit "Happy Birthday" pour la première fois à notre petite-fille; nous avons fait quelques achats (y compris la peinture pour l' atelier); nous avons acheté plus de tissu pour les clientes; nous avons mangé curry et "fish and chips" et nous avons visité quelques "pubs" à la campagne! Il était bon de renouveler notre connaissance avec l'Angleterre - mais la circulation routière est terrible! Nous sommes heureux de revenir en Normandie!

We're back at home after our trip to the UK. It was a very busy fortnight! We helped two of our children move house: said "Happy Birthday" for the first time to our granddaughter; did quite a bit of shopping (including buying the paint for the studio); stocked up on more fabric; ate curry and fish and chips and visited several country pubs! It was good to renew our relationship with England - but the traffic is terrible! It was a relief to come home to Normandy!

Aujourd'hui, il pleut et le vent est très fort. L'été est fini? C'est "la rentrée" et la saison d'automne des "Puces des Couturières" commence bientôt. Il y a beaucoup à attendre avec intérêt!

Today it's raining and blowing a gale! Is summer finished? The new term has started and the autumn season of "Puces des Couturières" begins soon - so there's much to look forward to!

Je suis impatient de voir tous nos amis et des clientes bretons encore! J'espère faire quelque patchwork ce soir - après j'ai lu tous les e-mails!

I'm looking forward to seeing all our Breton friends and customers again! I'm also hoping to get some sewing done this evening - after I've read all my emails!

Pas beaucoup ... Not much

Pas beaucoup de patchwork récemment ...
Not much patchwork going on recently ... 

Nous avons eu beau temps et nous avons eu beaucoup à faire dans le jardin et avec le "projet"! Nectarine a essayé de deviner! Elle a dit ...
"Un magasin pour vendre des tissus ?
Un abri pour camping car?
Un atelier patchwork?"

We've had good weather and have had lots of work to do in the garden and with the "project"! Nectarine had three guesses about our building work! She said ...
"A shop for selling fabric?
A garage for a camper van?
A patchwork studio?"
 

Comme vous pouvez le voir un camping car ne peut pas passer par la porte, mais une de ses suggestions fait mouche! Avez-vous jamais essayé de lancer une petite entreprise à domicile? Il n'est pas facile - nous avons eu le stock dans tous les coins et recoins! Dans les placards - dans les tiroirs sous les lits ...  Donc, maintenant nous avons un atelier de patchwork! Cela va rendre la vie beaucoup plus facile ...
As you can see a camper van wouldn't fit through the door but one of her suggestions hit the nail on the head! Have you ever tried to run a small business from home? It's not easy - we had stock in every nook and cranny! In the cupboards - in drawers under the beds ... So, now we have a patchwork studio! This is going to make life much easier ...

L'intérieur est  aussi presque terminé (après plusieurs voyages à IKEA et Brico-Marché!) - mais, je suis désolé, je ne peux pas le montrer encore. Nous devons acheter plus de peinture! Nous avons utilisé de la peinture britannique et nous ne pouvons pas acheter la même chose ici. Il est heureux que nous irons au Royaume-Uni bientôt!
The inside is also nearly finished (after several trips to IKEA and the DIY store!)  - but, I'm sorry, I can't show it yet. We've run out of paint! We used some British paint and can't buy the same here. It's lucky that we will be going to the UK soon!

J'ai fait quelques fmq le soir et j'espère d'avoir un ouvrage fini bientôt! Il n'y a pas assez d'heures dans la journée!
I've been managing some fmq in the evenings and hope to have something finished soon! There just aren't enough hours in the day!

The event is taking place as part of the Fête de la Bretagne and there will be other things to see in the town during the week - including this exhibition of traditional shawls.

All's well. I've heard from SIMPLESEW and she has, indeed, been away from home! I'm glad she is OK. Her charm pack will be in the post after the Bank Holiday! I do like a happy ending ...

This SMS Giveaway is proving a little complicated. The first name out of the hat was a "no reply" blogger and although I tried my best to find her I wasn't successful!

The second name was SIMPLESEW! Are you there?? I'm happy to say that you won a prize from me - a "La Belle Fleur" charm pack. I've sent you two emails asking for your address so I can put it in the post but haven't had a reply. I put a "read receipt" on the 2nd one but it wasn't returned. This is one of my last attempts to contact you before I draw another name.

C'est la brasserie "La Cigale"conçue par l’architecte céramiste Emile Libaudière ...

This is the "La Cigale" (the cicada) brasserie designed by the architect/ceramist Emile Libaudière...

La Cigale a ouvert ses portes en 1895 et l'intérieur magnifique en style Art Nouveau est conservé comme un Monument historique. 

La Cigale first opened in 1895 and the glorious Art Nouveau interior is preserved as a historic monument. 

Un repas à La Cigale est assez cher et nous n'avions pas les moyens d'acheter le champagne mais le prix d'une tasse de thé (ou dans mon cas, un chocolat chaud) et des gâteaux est raisonnable pour avoir la chance de s'asseoir et de regarder!! 

A meal at La Cigale is a bit dear and we couldn't afford the champagne but the price of a cup of tea (or in my case a real hot chocolate) and cakes is reasonable for the chance to sit and stare!
