Jelly Roll Quilt.

I am very happy to be able to tell you that I have finished a quilt. This one has been waiting a long time ...

Here's a photo of the project that I took before Christmas ...

What did I hear you say? Christmas wasn't long ago? Ah - but I'm talking about Christmas 2010!

I finally sewed the blocks together at the beginning of February 2012...

J'ai ajouté la bordure ...
I added the border...

I quilted the sandwich by machine with a simple meandering pattern. The quilt was finished on the ferry while travelling to the UK on the 13th February. I stitched the binding down during the crossing...

L'envers - The back

I used a "Shangri-La jelly roll from moda and the design is from "Jelly Roll Quilts" by Pam and Nicky Lintott. I think that this quilt demonstrates the versatility of a jelly roll ...

Les aventures dans l'atelier... - adventures in the sewing studio...

I've been sewing! I've finished a baby quilt for a little man!

I used a jelly roll ("Young and Fresh") from Fabric Freedom. This was an ideal size for a baby quilt with its 20 co-ordinated strips of fabric. I also used some white tone-on-tone fabric for the background and a blue design for the border.

The design came from the book "Two From One Jelly Roll Quilts" by Pam and Nicky Lintott. (Pam and her daughter Nicky run "The Quilt Room" in Dorking, Surrey, England)

I like to make the back of the quilt interesting too. I used the fabric scraps to hide the join in the backing fabric.

Then, when it has its label, the quilt is finished.
