Croyez-vous cela? Do you believe this?
I know this is difficult to believe but I've another project to show - completed!
This is a block from the "Snapshots" quilt. The pattern for each block is offered free but the designer asks that quilters consider giving a donation to the designated charity. A new block will appear on the 15th of each month. This is February's block. I'm not planning to make the whole quilt but I liked this block very much.
I used "Sew Retro" fabric from Makower and a few scraps from other ranges.
C'était facile et rapide à faire. Le petit est bon!
It was easy and quick to make. Small is good!

Une autre ligne d'arrivée - Another finishing Line!
A good start to 2015 - I've more to show you!
Le quilt proposé au mois de décembre pour "Another year of Schnibbles and a little bit more" était "Stems" de "Fig Tree Quilts".
The quilt proposed as the December project for "Another year of Schnibbles and a little bit more" was "Stems" from Fig Tree Quilts.
I decided to use a "Scrumptious" charm pack from moda and Bonnie and Camille.
I was ready to start but if only I'd read the instructions from start to finish before cutting the fabric. The pattern called for a charm pack but when I'd finished I had all this fabric left over!
Quel gaspillage!
What a waste! If I'd realised then I would have used scraps!
As you can see I used more fabric by adding a more decorative border.
Then I cut out and made this ...
Puis j'ai fait un deuxième! Ce sera un cadeau ...
Then I made a second one! This will be a gift ...
and I made a pincushion (free pattern) to go with it ...
et deux autres pour moi!
and two more for me!
Voilà ce que reste maintenant. C'est beaucoup mieux ...
May I count that as six finishes? :-) This is what is left now! I can live with that ...
Once again I'm too late for the parade ...
I hope to be on time next Sunday!!!

Finished quilt - Quilt fini ...
I've finished a project - the first for 2015!!

"Whit" was the first pattern proposed for "Schnibbles & a little bit more" and should have been finished before the end of September 2014 but...
So, I missed the parade!!! Ah well, it's finished now and I like it. This quilt has found a place in my sewing room.
This week we have been busy getting ready for this event ...
There is no weather forecast suggesting snow this year! So if you fancy an outing - see you there!

Un peu de progrès ... a little progress.
Le printemps est encore réticents à apparaître! Beaucoup de ciel gris!
Spring still seems reluctant to appear! We've had plenty of grey sky!
I've managed to do a bit of sewing this week. All the block corners are attached ...
Dimanche, nous serons ici ...
This Sunday we will be here ...

I'm dreaming of spring!
Alors, quoi faire? Je vais faire des fleurs de printemps?
I'm dreaming of spring! The weather teased us for a few days last week and I believed that spring had arrived ... but no! This weekend has been cold and we've had heavy showers of hail. What to do? Make spring flowers?
It's too cold for gardening! Let the sewing begin!

Enfin ... At last ...
At last, I've put the finishing touches to a quilt! The first for 2014!
Voici mon quilt Chaîne Irlandais "Celtic Connections".
Here's my Irish Chain quilt "Celtic Connections". It's made from scraps and the squares finish at 1.5 x 1.5 inches. You can find the block instructions in Bonnie K. Hunter's book "Adventure with Leaders and Enders". My quilt is 64 inches square and is rather smaller than the one illustrated! (Bonnie's quilt is enormous at 95 x 103 inches.)
As you can see we had some sunshine!
The free motion quilting took ages but I am quite happy with it.
I wouldn't say this out loud but maybe I'm getting the hang of this fmq lark!

Les nouvelles - Some news...
Congratulations to Nectarine! This talented quilter has had a quilt/quillow design published in the Burda patchwork magazine (No. 40. Winter edition 2013). The magazine proved a little difficult to find locally but I finally found a copy yesterday in E. Leclerc! Here is the front cover:-
Maintenant, vous savez ce que vous cherchez ...
Now you all know what you are looking for ...
I had the great pleasure of seeing this quilt (which can be folded to form a cushion) on display "in the flesh" last year. It is beautiful! The colours really shimmer against the dark background! Nectarine made the quilt from a strip roll (2.5 inch strips) from "Fabric Freedom". This design certainly shows the versatility of the rolls! Nectarine managed to complete more than one project from just one roll!
There are complete instructions in the magazine ...
I'm sure that the quilting world will see much more from this young designer in the future.
Thank you, Nectarine, for your very kind words on your blog - you made me blush! It has been a joy to meet you and I hope to see you again very soon,. Thanks for your patience with my terrible French!

I haven't been doing much sewing lately. I've been too busy sneezing and coughing! However, I have finished the "Easy Street" top. My quilt will be smaller than Bonnie's original.
I'm trying to decide whether to add borders ...
I had to take the photo indoors because it is raining - for a change!
Now it's finished I'm happy with it. Perhaps some of the greens aren't "limey" enough! I do have quite a few scraps in lime green but they are in 2.5 inch strips. I needed 3.5 inch strips! Typical! I thought about buying more fabric but the whole idea of the project was to use scraps ...

Quelle bonne idée! What a good idea!
We took a stall at "Les Puces des Couturières" at Le Teilleul last weekend. There is a thriving patchwork club at Le Teilleul with about fifty members. It is unusual because half the members are French and half are British!
At the moment Le Teilleul has a number of empty shops in the main street. Sadly, it's the same in many French towns and villages - and it's true for the British "High Streets" too!
The club members suggested to the Mayor that they mount a patchwork exhibition to make the empty shop windows more interesting. What a good idea! It's a brilliant way for the local community to express their love for their surroundings. In each shop window there is a patchwork hanging and a written piece about an aspect of patchwork.
Voici quelques photos.
Here are some photos. Sorry - they aren't good photos because of reflections in the glass (and a bit of condensation) but I hope they will give you some idea....
