L'événement est organisé par Être & Boulot, une association dont l'objectif est de permettre à des personnes exclues de l'emploi d'occuper un poste de travail.

This event is organised by Être & Boulot, an organisation which offers experience of employment to those often excluded from the world of work.

L'événement se déroule dans le les Greniers à Sel, deux vastes bâtiments en pierre, datent du XVIIème  siècle. Ils étaient destinés à abriter les sels (jusqu'à 10.000 tonnes) nécessaires pour la pêche de la morue.

La plupart des pierres proviendrait des anciennes fortifications de la ville. Leurs charpentes en chêne sont inspirées par les techniques de la construction maritime.

The event will take place in the Greniers à Sel, two huge stone buildings, dating from the 17th century. They were used for storing vast quantities of salt (up to 10,000 tons) necessary for the salt cod fishing industry.

Most of the stone for the buildings came from the town's ancient fortifications and the oak timbers of the ceiling were constructed using shipbuilding techniques.

Peu de progrès avec le patchwork cette semaine! J'espérais avoir fini le quilt "Chaîne Irlandaise" mais la fmq prend beaucoup de temps! Il serait utile également que je n'ai pas fait des bêtises!

I've made little progress with the patchwork this week! I'd hoped to have finished my Irish Chain quilt but the fmq is taking me ages! It would also help if I didn't make silly mistakes!

Hier, j'ai commencé avec la bordure. J'ai pensé que je voudrais essayer "Golden Threads Quilting Paper". J'ai choisi ce beau motif  "Whispy Feather Border" ici de Forest Quilting qui est la taille parfaite. Je l'ai imprimé et j'ai passé une heure ou plus de transférer le motif au papier spécialisé.

Yesterday I started work on the border. I thought I'd try using "Golden Threads Quilting Paper" instead of marking the quilt. I chose this lovely motif "Whispy Feather Border" here at Forest Quilting which was the perfect size. I printed it and spent an hour or more transferring it to the special paper.

Puis, j'ai trouvé qu'il ne correspondait pas à la bordure! Une manière ou d'une autre j'avais imprimé le motif à la taille fausse. Pour le moment j'accuse "Windows 8" pour tout - mais, probablement, c'était ma faute!

Then I found it didn't fit! Somehow I'd printed out the motif at the wrong size. At the moment I'm blaming "Windows 8" for everything - but it was probably my fault! 

Eh bien - peut-être la semaine prochaine!

Ah well - maybe next week!
