I think I would have liked to read a blog written by one of my great-grandmothers. I would just love to learn more about what they lived through and find out what their favorite past-times were and why. Thanks for the opportunity!

Karen a dit… #

I would have loved to know more about my grandmother. She lived during such a difficult time in Germany and I would ask her how she managed to keep her family going. Just the day to day things like what she cooked and how they found ways to celebrate the chidren's birthdays during the war would have been so interesting to know. She taught me to cross stitch when I was a little girl and stitching still makes me feel so close to her.

There is a quilt in my family that is composed of all sorts of different fabrics and is sewed together in a completely random fashion, and it's so lovely. I have no idea who made it, but I would love to read about their experiences hand-sewing the quilt and why they made the decisions they did. I've admired it since I was a little girl, and now that I'm a quilter, it's really inspiring for me.
