So that was summer - Chapter 3!

As you will have guessed there wasn't much time for sewing this summer...
I had a lovely present from my daughter. She bought me something I'd been looking for but couldn't find in France...

A bag of ground walnut shells! I wasn't expecting the packet to be quite so big - I can see many pincushions in my crystal ball!

I've finished the quilt top I started in the spring and I've chosen a motif for the fmq...

While I was waiting for the backing fabric to arrive I started to sew the blocks for another quilt. I cut out this fabric a long time ago!

I've volunteered (perhaps foolishly) to take part in this year's  AYOS (Another year of Schnibbles). I love Carrie Nelson's designs and this year some of the projects will be very small (made with 2.5 inch squares) so I hope I can find the time to keep up!

I'm making the "flying geese" using my "Mini Fit to be geese" ruler for the first time. I found it rather fiddly at first but I'm getting the hang of it! It's certainly very accurate. The "geese" for this model are tiny (1.5 x 2.5 inches) - perhaps they are "flying swallows"!

Tomorow, 28.09.2014, there is a "Puces des Couturières" at the Salle des Fêtes in Betton (35) between 9am and 6pm. We will be there with lots of new fabric designs for sale. I hope many of you will come and see us at our first event for the autumn season!

Hello Lynne - well it is still summer here, we are having better weather now than we had in the summer. Sure it will not last much longer but September has been glorious! Would you be prepared to divulge where the ground walnut shells were purchased please? AYOS looks interesting but I have already signed up for too much I think, all very tempting but it diverts me from what I want to get on. Love your little geese though. xx

Hello Lynne,
Lucky you to get the right filling for your pincushions. Your quilting projects are lovely, good luck with them all.

Happy days.
Bev.

That's wonderful your daughter send you the filling for you pincushions. I heard that crushed walnut shells are the best. I have yet to try them, though.
Your sewing projects are lovely as always. Good luck with all those tiny piecing.

You had a lovely summer, and the flower quilt is just gorgeous. I can't wait to see it entirely finished.
I hope you are still doing as well now that it's autumn. Take care !

Ooo - I really love the fabrics in the blocks you started. I also adore the fabrics in your banner picture - blues are my favorite and those are beautiful.
