Quelle bonne idée! What a good idea!

We took a stall at "Les Puces des Couturières" at Le Teilleul last weekend. There is a thriving patchwork club at Le Teilleul with about fifty members. It is unusual because half the members are French and half are British!

At the moment Le Teilleul has a number of empty shops in the main street. Sadly, it's the same in many French towns and villages - and it's true for the British "High Streets" too!

The club members suggested to the Mayor that they mount a patchwork exhibition to make the empty shop windows more interesting. What a good idea! It's a brilliant way for the local community to express their love for their surroundings. In each shop window there is a patchwork hanging and a written piece about an aspect of patchwork.

Voici quelques photos.
Here are some photos. Sorry - they aren't good photos because of reflections in the glass (and a bit of condensation) but I hope they will give you some idea....

... this is a little difficult to translate but perhaps ...
"A patchwork sewn with love is a web of patience and dreaming".

What a brilliant idea! At least the window shoppers have something to look at as they stroll along!
